Ibiza's fantastic beaches


Ibiza is well-known as a party- and beach destination. I already wrote about the nightlife in Ibiza, now I would like to talk about the fantastic beaches. The Balearic Island Ibiza is a great destination for a relaxed Ibiza beach holiday.

Beaches in the South

Playa d'en Bossa: This beach is located directly in the holiday resort Playa d'en Bossa and offers a wide range of activities. A windsurf- and diving school as well as a catamaran- and paddleboat rental is situated at the beach. The beach is approximately 2 km long and 20 - 30 m broad. Sun loungers and sunshades can be rented; furthermore there are numerous restaurants and bars near the beach. The beach is gently sloping into the sea and is suitable for a Ibiza family vacation. Easter in Majorca

Cathedral Mallorca.jpgThe Easter week begin traditionally with Palm Sunday, it always fall on the first Sunday before Easter. It marks the end of Lent, a period of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter. The Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus Christ's entry in Jerusalem. Locals carry the olive and palm branches which are kept in homes to ward off evil. An afternoon mass takes place at Majorca's Cathedral in Palma. The mass will be attended by many priests from all over Majorca as well as the bishop.
From Monday to Friday a series of processions continue e.g. "Brotherhood of the Blood of Christ" on Maundy Thursday and the 'Holy Burial' on Good Friday.ostern.jpgThe procession on Maundy Thursday in Palma de Majorca is one of the most spectacular due to the vast amount of people who take part.
On Easter Sunday when the Procession of the 'Meeting' is celebrated the week of celebrations comes to a closing.
