Mallorca Rocks 2010

Mallorca Rocks 2010 is a series of gigs that will take place from Juli to September 2010 in the Mallorca Rocks Hotel in Magaluf.

courteeners.jpgLast year, Ibiza rocks 2010 was a huge success. Therefore, the organizers have decided to expand the event to Mallorca and offer a similar line-up as in Ibiza. If you like rock and pop music and you like bands such as The Kooks, Calvin Harris, Tinie Tempah, The Courteeners, Sound Of Guns and Dizzee Rascal, you should not miss this event!

If you planed to spend your holidays in Mallorca anyways, such as in a Mallorca hotel or a Mallorca apartment, Mallorca and Magaluf will not only be interesting for you due to the concerts but also because of the beatiful landscape and the great beaches.

The events are spead all over the summer time.

Copa del Rey Regatta 2010

The Copa del Rey is a world famous boat regatta under the patronage of king Juan Carlos of Spain. This year, the event will take place from the 1 to 7 August in the palma bay in Mallorca.

_nms9634.jpgEvery year hundreds of people travel to Mallorca to be part of the nautical spectacular. At that time, there is usually a high demand of Mallorca hotels as well as Mallorca apartments. Especilly in Palma de Mallorca, ther will be events all about the Copa del Rey.

The Copa del Ray dates back to 1982 when the Asociación Nacional de Cruceros and the Real Club Náutico de Palma organized this event for the first time. Meanwhile, this event has developed to an important regatta for sailers. This year, it will celebrate its 28th edition.

The races incorporate 4 monotype classes with one overall winner. More than two dozen boats will explore the Mediterranean at this time. Thanks to the Royal family's participation and support, the Copa del Rey has advanced to the position of one of the most important regattas.

Mallorca Autumn Events 2010

Processio de la Beata: The first Sunday in September is celebrated with costumes and floats in Santa Margalida to honor the holy Catalina.

Festa des Vermar: Grape-Harvest-Festival on the last Sunday in September in Binissalem, Mallorca.

Festa del Melo : At the same day in September, the Melon-Festival in Vilafranca will take place.

 

October:

Dia de la Hispanidad: Spanish national day

Festa de Virgin: The 21. October is the day when the city center of Palma becomes a big party with dance, music and a lot of fun.

Festa dies Butifarro: This festival has indeed an unusual character, when in Sant Joan on the third Sunday of the month numbers of people meet for a huge sausage feast.

 

November:

Sant Carles: This is the national day of Ibiza. The whole island will celebrate themselves and it's patron saint.

Dilous Bo: The third Thursday in November is the day when a big agricultural festival will take place in Inca, in Mallorca.

Birthday of Junipero Serra: This the birthday of a famous monk that is celebrated in Mallorca.

Mallorca Summer Events 2010

June:

  • Sant Antoni de Juny:  At June 13th, a huge festival with parades, musik and fun takes place in Arta (Mallorca).
  • Romeria de Sant Marcal:: This is a very popular festival taking place at June 30th in a couple of cities across the island, such as in Sa Cabeneta.

 

July

  • Dia de Virgen de Carmen: This is a festivity with a number of processions all across mallorca (15/16. July)
  • Santa Catalina Thomas: This is also a religious fiesta with a lot of processions taking place on July 27th/28th in Valldemossa.

 

August

  •  Copa del Rey: The Copa del Rey is a world famous yachting regatta under the patronage of king Juan Carlos and takes place in the first week of August.
  • Sant Ciriac. August 8th is the day of a feast held in Ibiza celebrating the recapture of the Balearic Island by Spain.
  • Assumption of the Virgin: This an important religious festival celebrated in the entire country.
