Beautiful coastlines on Ibiza

In the southeast of Ibiza there is the municipality of San José. The town Sant Josep de sa Talaia was named after the mountain located nearby. This region accommodates the island's most beaches and coves and covers a coastline of nearly 50 miles. Cala Comte, Cala Bassa and Cala Vedella are the three most beautiful coves, they even were rewarded with blue flags.

Pine forrests are abundant on Ibiza and its smaller neighbour Formentera. This is why they are popularly nicknamed „Las Pitiusas". You can easily find beautiful Ibiza apartments and Ibiza hotels close to these beaches.

Besides beautiful beaches and impressive natural parks San José also has a great historical heritage. You can visit the Punic-Roman rural settlement of Ses Païses near Cala d'Hort and another historical attraction is the Phoenician village in Sa Caleta. There are also two famous watchtowers, the Torre de ses Portes and the Torre de Comte, both built during the 17th and 18th centuries by locals to prevent invasions from the sea. Furthermore there are some marvelous churches in this region. Something you really shouldn't miss while vacationing in this region is the Cova Santa, a 25 meters deep natural cave with many stalctites and stalagmites.

In the town of Sant Josep you can also enjoy all sorts of sports and the town hall organizes many cultural and traditional activities and events throughout the year. If you want to come and enjoy the southeast coast of Ibiza you can either choose to stay in the cultural center and take an Ibiza holiday accommodation in San José or the neighbouring town of San Augustin or choose to spend most time along the coast visiting the many beaches and staying in an Ibiza hotel or Ibiza apartment in for example Cala Tarida or in Cala Vadella.
