The Aqualand in El Arenal

Mallorca offers its tourists a wide range of opportunities to spend their time. One of the most important tourist attractions in Mallorca is the Aqualand in El Arenal. This park offers a lot of fun for families and groups of youngsters. You definitely have to visit the Aqualand if you are in Mallorca. In El Arenal and Palma de Mallorca which is situated quite close, you can find a lot of Mallorca hotels.

This Aqua park offer you a lot of waterslides for every age and all kinds of attractions that satisfies every tourist. Some of these numerous attractions are the Tsunami, the Grand Canyon and the Devils Tail. The Banzai for example is a steep 25 meter long slide on witch you go down sitting on a mat. On the way down you are going to reach a speed of 50 km/h.
Another attraction is the Surf Beach. This is a big basin with a wave machine. This one creates wave that can become one meter high. So grab a surfboard and feel like surfing in the ocean.

The Polynesia is brand new. This offers several slides in a tropical surrounding full of colors. The children can also have fun on one of the numerous trampolines or in the diving basin, where they can proof how long they are able to stay under water. You can relax here after a long day on one of the green meadows or in one of the Jacuzzis.

You can easily reach the park by car. There are also shuttle buses driving directly from Palma and El Arenal straight to the entrance of the park. The public transports do also stop at the entrance of the park.
The openings times of the park in the summer are from 10.00-18.00 hours.

Mallorca´s cuisine

The Balearic Island Mallorca is known for its comprehensive Mediterranean cuisine. At the end you will of course find the spicy Chorizos.
In every Bar on Mallorca you can of course also find the delicious Serrano ham which is really popular and famous in Spain. Tasting all this makes your Mallorca holiday special.

Another delicacy of Mallorca is saffron rice which is cooked with chicken, pork and vegetables. Thru the closeness to the sea you can find all kinds of variations of fish on the plate. You will mainly find prawns, sardines and perches. Another delicacy of Mallorca is Perch which is backed in stone salt.

Wine in Majorca

Most of the Majorcan wines are red, approximately a third of the Majorcan wines are white wines. Don't forget to make to trip to the fantastic vineyard areas during your Majorca holiday!






D.O. (Denominación de origen)

D.O. is the certificate of origin of Spanish products, especially of the wine. At the moment their are approximately 66 DO's. I would like to present you the two vineyard areas Binissalem and Plà i Llevant. Stay in a comfortable accommodation in Majorca and taste the fantastic Majorcan wines. Binissalem:
7577_big.jpgThe area, covered by the DO, is located in the centre of the island, northeast of the town of Palma. Benissalem mostly uses the both grape varieties Manto Negro and Moll. It offers a total of 400 hectare vineyard area. The red wines are very alcoholic and harmonic. The area includes the borderlines of five communities: Santa Maria del Cami, Consell, Binissalem, Sencelles und Santa Eugenia. In the late 20th century there was a revival of the wine industry due to the demand for quality wine by tourists. It acquired its DO status in 1991.

Plà i Llevant:
wein.jpgAmong the grape varieties are Callet, Fogoneu, Tempranillo, Manto Negro, Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot und Syrah. The vineyard area contains 340 hectare. In 1991 the area was classified as Vinos de la Tierra and in 2001 it acquired its DO status.

Diving in Menorca
