Ses Salines and Es Cavallet

To the south of Ibiza Town, stetching from the airport to the sea, are thousands of acres of salts flats. Ibiza's history, and its powerful presence on ancient trade routes, was based on these salts fields (salines), a trade that was vital, above all, to the ancient Carthaginians. Indeed, salt remained an important economic ressource until comparatively recently, the Island's only rail line ran from the middle of the marshes to La Canal, a dock where an enormous container ship would arrive weekly to be loaded with the bright, pinky-white sea salt.
Even now, though tourism brigs in far more money and the rail line has been tron up, salt production continues.

There are 2 beaches aroud there and buses from Ibiza town leave regularly for the more westerly, Ses Salines whose fine white sand arcs around a bay, the crystal-clear waters fringed by pines and dunes. The Beach also has a handful of beach bars, with cool chill-out sounds at Sa Trinxa at the southern end of the sands. From Ses Salines, it's a brief walk around the rocks or along the paths that maze the sand dunes to es Cavallet, a quieter if broadly similar beach that's long been a favourite of gay visitors the dunes behind the beach are well-known cruising area.

RCD Mallorca, football team

This team was founded in 1916 in Palma De Majorque, honored by the King Alfonso XIII honró in conformance with the name of Real Sociedad, name given until 1931 and that changed to the name of Club Deportivo Mallorca.
The RCD Mallorca does not stop making the elevator during this decade under the orders of Serra Ferrer. The club tries so-so to remain within the Spanish elite.

Serra Ferrer does not manifestly leave the Catalan giant indifferent. He lands to the Camp Nou in 1997 as trainer of the team of young people, while Louis van Gaal is in the head of the first team. When the Dutchman is fired in 2000, Serra Ferrer meets itself to the commands until April, 2001. He returns then to his team of young people. He finds trainer's post at the highest level in 2004 with Betis, which knows under its orders the best season of its history. The club wins the Cup of Spain and ends on the fourth place of the championship, what is worth to him competing for UEFA Champions League. The victory on Chelsea FC, nevertheless favourite, establishes one of the rare knocks of brightness of a gloomy season. In summer, 2006, Serra Ferrer agrees to take up the challenge which he is offerd by the AEK Athens FC.
Then the RCD Majorca appealed Gregorio Manzano, the man who drove to the Club to the top of the History with the conquest of the Glass of the King. That of Bailén managed to give another character to the team after coming. It won to the Málaga and to Madrid.

To admire a soccer play, go to Mallorca and stay in one of the best hotel or apartment of the Island. You will be able also to enjoy all the beauties of www.perfectsuntravel.com. Why wouldn’t you stay in Palma hopping to see the team training in their wonderful soccer stadium.

Mallorca and its traditional food

With the origin the cuisine of Majorque was a rather country cuisine, and still today the use of pig and lard is very frequent. But we can find obviously also fish, shellfish, fruits and many vegetables. With regard to the typical dishes of the island, do not miss the asado by lechona(pig of roast milk) been useful mainly in the storerooms. Soups are also very famous (Majorque and Minorque) and generally containing bread, onion and vegetable.

Obviously, as on the peninsula the pork-butcheries and the ham serrano are in the spending patterns. Finally all the roasted or fried fish are and will remain always a treat, without forgetting famous Tapas!

Most of the hotels and accomodations will propose you this kind of traditional food, for exemple the Hotel Eurotel Golf Punta Rotja.

Namely also that Majorque produces a great number of cheese and since 1991 holds two wines origin appellation controlled! Of course the traditional ones are not avoided that are the pizza, the Chinese restaurants and always a little more popular the Mexican restaurants!

Mallorca, the diving paradise

With its numerous bays and its caves, the island offers you of magnificent submarine view, sites also propose wreks, perfect for the beginners as for the most introduced.
Diving schools are numerous, and the barrier of the languages will cause no problem because, English, German, French and naturally Spanish are languages frequently met.
The important point which makes the island of Majorca as a good place to practise diving is that the water is so clean and in summer its transparency, which also offers you the possibility of diving in apnea or simply with a snorkel. the diving places are in general not far from the accomodations in Majorque area.
That is also the simplest and the most economic way to discover the submarine life of the archipelago.
Diving schools provide a high quality service, diving only the best dive sites in Mallorca, using the best equiped diving boats and all the rental equipment is replaced regularly. They also provide free transportation between the diving centre and your hotel in Mallorca. All this is provided at competetive prices and with British diving instructors.

Mallorca, the jewel of the Balearic Islands

Majorque (Mallorca in Catalan and in Spanish) is the biggest island of the Balearic Islands, which the archipelago also includes Minorque, Ibiza and Formentera, in the Mediterranean Sea, off Barcelona.

The island counts approximately 730 000 inhabitants. Iits capital is Palma de Majorca - Ciutat. It includes 6 main lands: Tramuntana (mountains, in the North), Ponent (in the southwest), Raiguer (farmlands and wine at feet of the mountain), Pla (in the center), Migjorn (in the East), Llevant ( southeast) and the city of Palma.

It was lived from the prehistoric period (sites of Ses Païsses, near the city of Arta), then by Romans (ruins of Roman Alcúdia, ex--Pollentia), replaced by the Moors Almoravides, then the Almohades (from 902 in 1229), followed by the Catalans. The island was the center of an independent kingdom which existed from 1276 till 1344, the kingdom of Majorca.
The Catalan is the official tongue, and the more used in Mallorque, before the Castilan.

Approximately 93 % of its gross domestic product results from the tourism, developed from 1960s. For the Germans, Majorca is one of the main places of holiday resort European, thus attracting(enticing) number of foreigners, what was worth in the island the ironic nickname of seventeenth Land. The traditional agricultural activity is centred on the vegetable productions: wine ( Binissalem), almonds, olives, vegetables.

If in many spirits Majorca remains synonymic of anarchy tourism, inhaled by the sea and pushed by an urbanization of mass (" balearisation "), the island and the majorquine life offer many aspects which contradict this vision: protected agricultural villages, diverse tracks of past cultures, art and culture (in the XVth century, the philosopher Raymond Lulle based in Majorca a considered school of languages and theology) , walking and hiking in the mountainous zones, the gastronomy. Our selection of hotels in Mallorca will no doubt charm you

The tourist influx became more varied (previous history and lifestyles), with a growing part of immigration of European of the North coming to settle down permanently on the spot.

Fortunately for some years, this "Balearisation" is more and more controlled by the avid government for protecting its inheritance and culture.
Many zones were decreted natural Reserve, thus protecting the littoral against this anarchistic expansion.

Our selection of accomodations in Mallorcaon the coast on the beach, on the rural suburban side and in Palma will surely seduce you!

This destination attracts you? Many other will charm you also!!!!
